Resident Evil Village features many areas that may be expanded upon in DLC as well, but only time will tell if these bosses or locales will be featured once more. DLC could also supply content that had been cut. Recently, a storied Resident Evil leaker has shared information that, if true, details cut content from one boss’ locale in Resident Evil Village.

Twitter user AestheticGamer has shared what fans would believe to be insider knowledge about Moreau’s reservoir area in Resident Evil Village. AestheticGamer makes some fairly substantial and specific claims about Moreau’s area and a lot of content that was cut from it in order to focus on Castle Dimitrescu and Heisenberg’s Factory. Content cut allegedly included a swamp section “laid out similarly to End of Zoe’s swamp stuff,” “Mermaid-like enemies,” and a “stalker enemy” that apparently resembled a Tyrant.

These mermaid creatures supposedly had a “screech attack which stunned you and slowed you down for a time” and players would have had to seek patches of land to evade them in the water. The Tyrant-like stalker enemy is described as having a “giant acid sack” around his neck and shoulders, could “spew acid,” or “use a clawed hand” to attack the player. Further, the mermaids’ screeches would alert this stalker enemy.

Lastly, AestheticGamer claims that more occultist witch elements were peppered into this swamp area before it was cut, and the witch enemies closely resembled the characters that would become Lady Dimitrescu’s daughters in Resident Evil Village. However, without any sources named or reasons why they believe it to be true, there is not a lot of credibilities to follow up on for this rumored claim. It is specific enough that it may be true, but fans should remain skeptical about how authentic these details truly are while they cannot be fully verified.

AestheticGamer’s name is known in the Resident Evil community to be a bit contentious due to the vagaries of details previously shared or leaked insider details that were commonly known at the time that they shared them, so these latest insights should be taken with a ton of salt. Either way, it would be interesting to hear official verification about such cut content, such as in a Director’s Cut or perhaps as part of Resident Evil Village’s future DLC potential.

Resident Evil Village is available now for PC, PS4, PS5, Stadia, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
