The latest Resident Evil movie reboot set photo shows the outside of the Raccoon City Orphanage, which first appeared in the Resident Evil 2 remake. In the Resident Evil 2 remake, Sherry Birkin is kidnapped and taken to the orphanage by Chief Brian Irons. It should be noted that Chief Brian Irons has been cast in the Resident Evil movie reboot, with the character set to be played by Gotham’s Donal Logue, but Sherry Birkin has not been cast at the time of this writing.

While Sherry Birkin has not been cast in the Resident Evil movie reboot, her father has. When the Resident Evil movie reboot cast was first announced, it was confirmed that veteran actor Neal McDonough would be portraying the villainous William Birkin in the film. There’s no word yet if William’s wife Annette will be in the new movie or not.
The Raccoon City Orphanage is just the latest location from Resident Evil 2 that’s been confirmed for the Resident Evil movie reboot. Its presence seems to indicate that the movie will be taking after the 2019 video game more than the original, but then again, the two games are very similar in terms of story anyway. However, there have been set photos that indicate that the infamous mansion incident from the first Resident Evil game will be featured prominently as well.
Some Resident Evil movie reboot set photos have shown off the interior of the mansion as it will appear in the new movie, so it seems that the movie won’t be simply skipping over the plot of the first game. Not only that, but it’s heavily rumored that Lisa Trevor, one of the most infamous monsters from the Resident Evil game remake, will also be featured in the movie reboot.
While these Resident Evil movie set photos may give fans a general idea of what they can expect from the film, the fact is that they won’t know for sure what’s going on until they see it for themselves. Assuming that the movie isn’t pushed back due to any COVID-19 delays or other reasons, the Resident Evil movie reboot will premiere in theaters at some point in 2021.
