According to a recent report from Videocardz, Canadian retailer Canada Computers has shown the upcoming AMD RX 6X50 XT range in a banner at the top of its website. The image shows the three models with a black color scheme and red lettering for the “Radeon” logo. The report goes on to state that these images mirror what was speculated at the beginning of last April, which sports three fans for two of the models, and two fans for the smaller GPU.

It wasn’t that long ago that the AMD RX 6X50 refresh range was being spoken about, with the three SKUs incorporating the 6650 XT, 6750 XT, and 6950 XT. Where these differ from their previous iterations is largely in memory speed, with the 6750 and 6950 boosted to 18 Gbps, while the 6650 will be at 17.5 Gbps, so not much behind the other two cards. All three products are expected to launch on May 10, though pricing has yet to be confirmed.

There are just a few months left in this current generation. With Nvidia looking to launch its RTX 40-series this September, and AMD making plans to unleash its RDNA 3 architecture towards the latter parts of this year, there’s a lot to play for as both these giants of the industry vie for supremacy on the GPU field. Intel has also just joined the arena, but it seems as though team blue may have a bit of catching up to do, especially as this generation’s Arc cards for desktop are not due to come out until June.

Of course, success will depend on whether people can actually get hold of a new graphics card. With Intel’s Pat Gelsinger saying the chip shortages could go on until 2024, despite hope that it was ending soon, there could still be some trouble ahead. In any case, AMD, Nvidia, and Intel will still keep plodding on with new products in the market, regardless of any deficit.
