While a few of the game’s achievements will be unlocked automatically during a typical playthrough, most will require players to go a little out of their way. Many are easily missed too, particularly if players don’t already know exactly what they’re looking for. Those hoping to unlock every achievement in Return to Monkey Island may therefore want to consider using a guide to keep them on track.
How to Unlock Every Achievement in Return to Monkey Island
Return to Monkey Island is available now on PC and Nintendo Switch.
The Melee Island lookout The pirates near the entrance to the SCUMM Bar (these guys count as three in the achievement tracker) The new pirate leaders The old pirate leaders The cook at the SCUMM Bar Cobb The Voodoo Lady Wally Otis Stan The locksmith Carla The guy at the Museum of Pirate Lore
All of them can be spoken to during Part 1, though the old pirate leaders will only show up if players have enabled the Writer’s Cut option in the settings menu. If not, they’ll instead have to wait until Part 4 to speak with them at the fish shop.
The Skull from the Voodoo Lady’s store The String from the pier behind the SCUMM Bar The Stuffed Toy from the Governor’s mansion The Sponge from the Shipyard
The ghost rats outside LeChuck’s cabin. The galley. The potion stains on deck. The used-up potion supply boxes on deck. Gullet, who is now stuck in the ship’s rudder. The greasy porthole in the hold. The grease spots in the hold. The splattered ghost chicken glop in the hold (for this one to show up, players will need to feed the ghost chicken above the crate some chicken feed and then leave and re-enter the area).
