Before Returnal players start searching for these elusive Sunface Fragments, it’s important to understand the requirements to make them spawn. The most important thing is that players need to have already beaten Act 2 once, but they also need to have seen all five house sequences as well. This is a minor spoiler, but players will know they’ve completed the last house sequence when they learn the truth about what caused Helios to crash.

Getting the Sunface Fragment from the Fractured Wastes requires the player to have the Delphic Visor, but if players are already trying to unlock the secret ending of Returnal then this item should be unlocked by now as it is required to beat Act 2. After entering the fifth biome, players will find themselves in a hub area with four doors leading away as well as one large vault door. The Vault Door should already be open, and players will need to head in here to find the Sunface Fragment.
Whereas previously this room contained the Hadal Ballasts that let players get underwater items, it now is host to a Luminescent Orb. Use the Delphic Visor to shoot the Luminescent Orb in order to spawn multiple platforms leading up into the room. Follow this path and eventually players will come across the fifth Sunface Fragment on one of the platforms just in front of a statue holding its hand out. This requires exactly zero fighting and is incredibly easy to get.
With the fifth Sunface Fragment acquired, all that’s left is to go back to the Abyssal Scar and find the sixth one. The entrance to Biome 6 is found in the main hub area right outside the vault, so getting there should be easy. Alternatively, players that haven’t yet should be sure to use a key and open the locked door in the hub to get the Promethean Insulators so they can walk on red floors.
Returnal is available now on PS5.
